Director's CornerRecently, BBC News ran a story that the government of Peru is planning to build an international airport in the Andean town of Chinchero, current population at around 5,000. Why there? Chinchero is close to the spectacular Inca site of Machu Picchu, a place that’s legendary not only for its miraculous engineering and wonderful scenery, but also for its aura of remoteness. Nobody in the cities of the West knew it was there until the opening decades of the twentieth century. Donate to CHPInterested in helping the Campus Honors Program with a generous donation?
