Mia Za's Dinner Out

The Italian Stallion has returned! Mia Za's after being destroyed by an unfortunate fire last spring, has finally reopened. Come join HSC for dinner at this local favorite, bringing fast and fresh Italian cuisine to the campus crowd. We'll be meeting at the restaurant at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 14th. Mia Za's is located on the south side of Green St., just west of Wright.

Have you ever wondered about language development across a spectrum of people? How can we help those who have trouble speaking or processing speech by enhancing their skills? Join us at the HoHo at noon, Thursday, March 15th with Professor DeThorne, from the school of Speech and Hearing Science. She will be discussing neurodiversity, disability, and technology. Pizza will be served, but do not wait; only the first 12 to sign up will be able to attend.

Bell Tower Tour

Ever wonder what's actually up in the Altgeld bell tower? Machines playing them? People? Ghosts?!
Take an hour out of your day on Tuesday, April 10 at 7:00pm to hike up there and meet our wonderful chimesmaster Sue Wood, a player known across campus for her stunning renditions of tunes such as Illinois Loyalty, Indiana Jones, and Lady Gaga.
You'll get the chance to climb up right by the bells and see what campus looks like from the top of Altgeld, as well as even try your hand at a tune or two!

Be prepared to have fun and learn to think defensively. We will cover the most common crimes on campus and strategies to protect yourself. From theft to battery, we’ll talk about behaviors to look for and how to report pre-crime behaviors to the proper authorities. We will also work on some behavior and physical strategies you can use to protect yourself from crime.
