Recently, BBC News ran a story that the government of Peru is planning to build an international airport in the Andean town of Chinchero, current population at around 5,000.

Why there?

Chinchero is close to the spectacular Inca site of Machu Picchu, a place that’s legendary not only for its miraculous engineering and wonderful scenery, but also for its aura of remoteness. Nobody in the cities of the West knew it was there until the opening decades of the twentieth century.

Monday, 30 January from 6 to 7:30pm

Meet at the HoHo to walk over to Lai-Lai Wok on Green Street at 5:50 PM on Monday January 30 immediately after the HSC meeting! Get your Chinese-fix at the first CHP dinner of the year! Also, I apologize for the severe lack of puns in this blurb. Feel free to read it in a Chinese accent though. Be sure to bring $$ for the food!
